World AIDS Day 2023: Friday, December 1st

Every year since 1988 the world has come together on December 1st to raise awareness about the AIDS epidemic and serves as a day of remembrance to those who have lost their lives to AIDS.

We have not yet ended HIV/AIDS because we have not ended homelessness, a crisis rooted in structural racism and political disregard for people who are Black, Latinx and poor. This year, we bring back a Housing Works tradition of the Reading of the Names of those we have lost to AIDS. Volunteers will read from a list of names at the AIDS Memorial Park. There will also be an opportunity to memorialize your own loved ones in an interactive art exhibit at the park.
